It seems that the brothers Oasis are never at a loss for words, especially the younger brother Liam. But this time it’s guitarist and big-bro Noel who is barking about this year’s Glastonbury line-up.
According to the BBC, he feels that having a hip-hop act like Jay-Z as a headliner is the reason that tickets have not sold out. He also thinks that organizers have changed things too much. 100,000 tickets have been sold for the annual summer festival on the first day, but in previous years tickets sold out in a matter of hours. A full line-up for the event will be released on May 1st.
So, what did Noel say exactly?
Gallagher said: "If it ain't broke don't fix it. If you start to break it then people aren't going to go. I'm sorry, but Jay-Z? No chance. Glastonbury has a tradition of guitar music and even when they throw the odd curve ball in on a Sunday night you go 'Kylie Minogue?' I don't know about it. But I'm not having hip-hop at Glastonbury. It's wrong."
Jay-Z has yet to beat the snot out of Noel with a pillowcase full of rolled euros over his statement. Stay tuned for video of that, hopefully. Or don’t.
