Dave Kirwan ('kur-wĭn)
Pronounced with an Aussie accent. Weekends
Dave Kirwan was recently imported to the United States from Down Under and is now playing the rock tracks over the weekend on K-ROCK.
Prior to arriving in New York, Dave was working on Australia’s version of The Today Show, traveling around the country and reporting on snow and surf conditions each morning. His most exciting moment was when he gave away 1 million dollars, live on-air.
He’s also been a reporter in Australia with The Weather Channel, Fox Sports, MTV and Sky News.
Before Dave got his ugly mug on TV he was hosting a radio show which was broadcast across the big brown land.
He grew up listening to Nirvana, Guns n Roses, RHCP and Pearl Jam. His best memories of school were when his history teacher would put CDs of ‘Whales Mating’ on to calm the class. When she would leave the room and return, Metallica would be blasting out the speakers. He wonders why he flunked high school…
Now that Dave is in New York, his next goal is to sample the beer at every bar, check out the live music scene and explore the city. Oh… and get a green card.
For the record, no he doesn’t drink Fosters or throw shrimps on the Barbie.
Kids were tracking santa on Google Maps
Times have certainly changed from when we used to listen to the local radio station Christmas Eve tracking Santa Claus' trek around the world.Kids can now follow his world tour in 3D via google maps! This is cool. Not a bad way to garner Google a few more hits and little more publicity either.
Biggest grossing tours of 2008
Some people were questioning why bands like AC/DC are not in there. Well the list runs from Nov 07 to Nov 08, so as they are still on tour it wouldn't be eligible for this list. Here it is.
Def Leppard Fan?
Would make a good Xmas gift for any hard core Def Leppard rockers out there.A coffee table book. Thank god they didn't go down the same road as Madonna's coffee table book, which BTW I saw in a music store in NYC for $1,000!!!So this one could be a good investment!Link for ya
CNN reckons they had the world's first televised hologram
CNN claim to have broadcast the world's first holographic cross to a reporter. Well actually ‘beaming' her into the studio from a remote location.Technically it's not really a hologram. The camera in the studio controls the camera in the remote studio so they move together, then the vision is superimposed.I'm surprised such a ‘credible' news [...]
Is Brett Favre The Next Ozzy Osbourne?
I found this bizzare comparison between the two whilst checking out this, what looks to be a reputable sports website.
