Ozzy Osbourne has announced on his MySpace page that he will soon be heading back into the studio. He plans to record a new album after his appearances at Calgary’s Monsters of Rock Festival on the 26th and Ozzfest 2008.
MTV News reports that Ozzy recently spoke with the Calgary Herald about touring, his health, his dreams, his upcoming TV show, metal fans and more. The Prince of Darkness also revealed when he will stop playing live. He explained he’ll go “As long as I physically can. I always said if the audience dwindles and I end up playing clubs and theaters I’ll be long gone.”
Osbourne described his thoughts on retiring, noting, “My father… (when he retired) he was dead 12 months later because he didn’t have anything to live for. He wanted to do the garden and all that s**t, but he went and died.”
As for that new Osbourne variety show premiering on FOX in the fall, Ozzy said, “If I had my way, I’d do a few gigs each year and just make music. I love making music. I love being artistic. I’m excited to do the TV show but I… never think it’s going to be a big success. That’s the way I am with everything I do though.”
