New Metallica Track Leaked?

The Metallica message boards were on fire this morning as a result of an alleged K-Rock (misspelled KROQ) production assistant talking smack to her cousin about the new Death Magnetic track "The Day That Never Comes".

Here is the post:
"My cousin Lauren is working as a production assistant at KROQ here in NYC this summer (she's a junior comm major at NYU) and I've been bugging her almost daily asking whether she's heard anything about new Metallica. She called me earlier today and said they received a CD single of 'The Day That Never Comes' with an air date for this Wednesday, starting after 8pm EST. She said there are 2 versions- a radio edit clocking in a 6:02 and the full version at 7:45. She said it came with a legal notice from Warner explaining the severe legal ramifications if the single is played earlier or is leaked and traced back to this tracked copy. KROQ is one of the largest rock stations in the country and they do usually get new music first- I've been listening to them since I've been a kid. And no, she wasn't allowed to listen to it- apparently no one there is before Wednesday morning."

Well, as you know, everything you read on the internets is true. So, hell yeah we've heard it. It's pretty friggin' badass.

We feel obligated to share the track with our loyal listeners... so without further ado... we give you the leaked Metallica  Death Magnetic track "The Day That Never Comes". | PLAY

When reached for comment, WXRK Program Director, Mike Tierney said, "Wow. That is some crazy, convoluted message board bulls@*#. And it is, I can assure you, complete bulls@*#. I love it."
