• Killers Album Sounds Like Duran Duran
MTV News Rock Editor James Montgomery had the pleasure of hearing the new Killers album and has written all about it in his column Bigger Than The Sound over on MTVNews.com.
In the piece, he describes the effort, titled Day & Age, as “the best Duran Duran record in recent memory”. He goes on to say that the band’s third album is “full of crisp, echoey vocals, spaced-out synth squiggles, bossa nova drum patters and way more saxophone than you could possibly imagine”.
You can hear it all for yourself when Day & Age is released on November 24th.
• Are We Human? Or Are We Dancer?
“Are we human? Or are we dancer?” What is Brandon Flowers singing about in The Killers latest single anyway?
His jump from the plural to the singular has fans wondering about the “Human” lyrics so MTV News decided to find out just what the song means.
Flowers said the line was inspired by a quote from Hunter S. Thompson, who wrote about “raising a generation of dancers,” but that still doesn’t really answer the question. Flowers went on to explain, “I just took it and ran with it. I think I know what he meant. I don’t want to be too much of a preacher here, but you know, it’s a mild social statement. And that’s all I’m gonna say.”
Still…what's with the grammatical error? According to the vocalist, “I guess it bothers people that it’s not grammatically correct. But I think that I’m allowed to do whatever I want".
